Timing belt may be a little on the loose side…don’t know what’s normal for this car – the side opposite of the tensioner was moving about a 1/4 inch when I pushed on it
Looking to see if anyone out there in YT land can let me know what they think – thanks much.
4-cycle ticking sound is the loudest & most noticeable. There are a few other sounds I’m wondering about also. Generally noisy engine, I may have my work cut out…
Throttle seems a little sluggish, could just be this engine though
Occasional slight hesitation/stutter – especially when the AC is on
Burns oil, doesn’t leak anything on the ground but it’s going through about a quart per oil change (give or take a little)
Recent service includes:
Oil change & air filter
New spark plugs
Flushed the radiator
Valve cover gasket
Transmission (not a flush…just going to start replacing fluid @ the next 3 or 4 oil change intervals until it looks good)
Timing belt & pulleys, water pump?
